HALLELUJAH STORY #3 “160 STUDENTS MEANS WE NEED MORE CLASSROOMS”

We Encourage, Inc. has assisted another African friend, Philip Sesay, in Sierra Leone.  Initially we assisted Philip by paying for the balance of medical costs for his daughter who received lifesaving therapy in Ghana.  Soon after that, Philip again became involved to care for his church and countrymen, serving and sheltering these people over the 10 year blood diamond war, and then helping his church to survive the ebola crisis. After these crises, he is now involved in building school buildings for the orphanage children that he and his church care for.

RTS is concerned about unity in diversity that brings about quality education, poverty alleviation, righteous living, good health, etc., so as to live in a weather of warm peace, instead of cold war. RTS is doing this by way of establishing schools for quality education, doing agriculture for food security, evangelization for Godly living in the community, and savings and credit participation for self-sufficiency.

2020 PROJECT: Molding Bricks for Children’s classroom
Philip Sesay has a thriving school for early elementary school children (click below the Rescue the Suffering logo on top right of this page to discover more). Currently some children swelter in a classroom that has steel roofing and is often unusable due to the extreme heat.
We Encourage would like to assist Philip Sesay expand his school and provide a classroom for children out of the intense heat. We Encourage provided funds for 3000 bricks that workmen have now produced at a cost of about $1.08/brick.

2021 PROJECT:
In the spring of 2021, Philip Sesay let us know that he needs to provide classrooms for 150 children under his care at the Reformed Academy.  30 of these children are orphans and the rest of the children come from poverty stricken families.  The children currently share “school space” in a huge old house.  We Encourage helped Philip to start a school classroom building project to be constructed next to the house, by providing money for laborers to form blocks for the foundation.  Other support came to Philip to help build walls and ceilings.

Through the course of the fall, We Encourage made further donations to allow completion of the two story, five classroom school building.  Philip did an amazing job to accomplish this in extraordinary time.  We are happy to report the building was completed in time for Christmas and many students will have classrooms beginning in January 2022.

Please see the link above called Hallelujah #2 to see the exciting step-by-step progress to accomplish this.

Philip,in an act of faith,is now underway in planning to add another L shaped building to accommodate all of his students.

Please help children in Sierra Leone by providing funds through We Encourage to complete the classroom project.
