“Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”

Jesus, Matthew 19:14

Hallelujah Story #2 provided the Reformed Academy in Freetown, Sierra Leone with its first classroom building.

We Encourage was thrilled to be used by the Lord to construct a 5 room, 2 story classroom building. Through this provision the youngest children now have classrooms, but most of the student body still meets in cramped spaces in a rented adjoining administrative house.

Here is the initial classroom building We Encourage funded.

Here is a view of the old rented administrative building behind the completed small classroom building and the new classrooms under construction.  Two-thirds of the student body are still meeting in the rented old and inadequate administrative building

And here is a view of a cramped room for students in the administrative building.

Here is an architect’s rendering of the new classroom building under construction that will more than TRIPLE the number of classrooms.  This will allow all 160 students to be in classrooms and provide extra space for medical office and canteen.

Here is a video showing early construction of the new ground floor portion.

Philip Sesay’s vision, December 22, 2021

Philip says there should be a provision for seven more classrooms to accommodate those students who still need classrooms. So he is getting plans to build an L-shape building that will connect to the new classroom building. So the ground floor and the first floor to be built will host nursery one to three and form one to two level students as well as the sixth level students that still remain in the administrative building. Perhaps there are those who find this a vision in which they’d like to contribute.

Here is the typical new classroom in the classrooms built in 2021 that we hope to duplicate manyfold in the new classroom building.

In February the ground floor’s ceiling was completed (see interesting construction video below). Since that time, the ground floor’s room’s have been plastered and tiled and getting ready for use.

So as of March 2023, We Encourage has funded about $77,000 to build the first classroom building and the ground floor of the new classroom building. We anticipate the total cost for completion of the new classroom 2 top floors at $86,500. We ask your help so that all the children can soon have classrooms.
